MothBaby is Lookin' Good
This afternoon took Lisa to her ultrasound (her second).

This time the little guy/gal baby didn't just look like a glob... s/he looks like a real live human bean!

It was pretty neat watching as the image panned around, seeing the baby moving it's arms, moving it's head, opening it's mouth.

Super cool.

I was getting a bit antsy as I waited to be retrieved and taken to the room, as it was taking a really long time... I started getting worried something was wrong. o_O

But all was, and is, well.

About half way through, and I'm getting more and more anxious to have this pregnancy faze over with, and have our little MothBaby here.

Ha! Ha! human bean, I guess at this stage they really do look kind of like a bean with little arms and legs!

*peers*

I'm trying to decide which of you she looks like!

Seriously, I'm glad things are going well for Lisa and Mothbaby!

Deej: Yep, everything appears to be going just as it's supposed to.

During the ultrasound the technician is able to measure the weight (somehow) and use that to estimate how far along in the pregnancy the weight says she should be... and can then compare that to how far along she is based on date of conception.

The weight-estimated progressions was 19 weeks and 3 days. The time based on the date of conception is 10 weeks and 4 days. So pretty much bang on. :)

Chica: Lisa and I decided early on that we don't want to know the sex until d-day, so we'll be surprised. Both of us have a feeling it's a boy, but time will tell. :)

The ultrasound clinic we went to has a policy of not telling the sex. If we HAD wanted to know, we'd have had to go to a different clinic, which is in a neighbouring city.

But, like I said, we don't want to know. :)

Pixie: It's easier than always saying he/she ... him/her ... and not so impersonal as "it". lol

Awwwwwwwwww. When they did one of my son back in 1980 they wouldn't tell you even if you asked. I knew my first was a boy and I knew my daughter was just that about 4 months into my pregnancy. She kicked me in the diaphram and never moved her feet. My ulcer woke up, I was sick for 5 months and lost 20 lbs while pregnant.
Now she is at Humboldt State Uni raising hell...lol...
I am happy to hear all is well with Moth Baby. How is Hunter on the other hand?

Indigo... sounds like a troublemaker? Did she take after her mother? ;)

Re: Hunter, everything is the same... nothing seems to be changing one way or the other.

LMC... yeah, we thought that was cute too. :)

How exciting Shawn! Aren't ultrasounds amazing? I'm sure you are ready for the baby to be here, and Lisa is even more ready! Thanks for sharing those pics:)

llbobisa... it was quite neat to see for sure, especially the "live" view... seeing the baby squirming around was amazing.

And yeah, I'm anxious for October to be here... both because I want to start my life as "dad" and because of all that will be happening between now and October, the onset of labor, and the delivery, is what freaks me out... it all sounds so complicated and confusing. lol

"the onset of labor, and the delivery, is what freaks me out... it all sounds so complicated and confusing. lol"

You sound like you're going to be giving birth! How is Lisa feeling about all this?

I think she's fine with it.

And I know I've got no part in it physically... but I have a bit of OCD when it comes to some things... and not knowing exactly how everything will, or should, proceed can drive me mental. lol
