This morning shaped up like any other morning... felt good, looking forward to the weekend.
Spent a few hours in the office, then had some field work to do, so headed out, stopped at the bakery for lunch. Just about done my lunch and I started to feel light headed... it got worse... and worse... and worse... next thing I knew I was on the floor, all I heard was a buzzing in my ears, and my head hurt. Huh?
Yep... I'd passed out, stone cold. I was out for less than a minute... but wow, what a weird feeling.
I got a ride in the ambulance to the ER, then spent the next 4 hours waiting there... blood tests normal, blood pressure normal, ECG normal ... the only thing reminding me that anything happened is that my head still hurts and I bit my tongue when I went down, so that hurts too.
I'm going to go for an outpatient EEG sometime next week probably to see if my grey matter is throwing the volts around like it's supposed to... but in the mean time... weird.
A similar thing happened to me about 7 or 8 years ago... very much the same, except that time I just barely avoided actually blacking out. This time I went all the way.
Apparently about every 7 or 8 years or so the Great Gazoo punches my reset button or something.
And let me tell you... I've passed out cold a few times in my life... and while it's never a pleasant thing... when you wake up from it, it feels like you've just had the greatest sleep ever. I haven't felt this rested for a long time.
