Photo of the Week (#3)

After my episode last Friday, Lisa and I headed out camping for the weekend, and we both enjoyed a very relaxing couple of days sitting around the campfire, hiking around the scenic trails, and just recharging.

I didn't take a ton of photo's but did have my camera along and got a few keepers.

I'd actually started with the intent of carrying out Chica's challenge of 'documenting' my day, taking a photo of whatever I was doing every hour or so... but after the first 3 or 4 pictures, the regimented schedule just wasn't meshing with the relaxed weekend, so I gave up. (sorry Chica! :p )

Anyways, I haven't done anything 'special' with these photo, they are just a couple from the weekend that I thought captured the location well.

The first one is a capture of an amazing view.

The second one, I just liked the lighting of it.

Isn't it great when you have a photo that you don't have to do anything to? I find it bliss LOL

I like both of them, that sure is an amazing view. :)

Thanks Chica.

Yeah... funny as it may sound... I have to sometimes stop myself from fiddling with photo's too much.

I really enjoy the editing process, and sometimes do way more than I need to, or should do.

On these two pics I did a curves adjustment (to increase contrast), and a bit of sharpening.

On the second pic I also did some "painting with light" using Photoshop to add some extra oomph to the shadow and light in a few spots.

Fabulous view! I could sit and look at that all day!

Unfortunately, that wasn't the view from the actual campsite, we had to hike a ways for it. :)

It's definitely a fantastic way to recharge. Nothing like coming home afterwards rested, relaxed, and smelling like campfire. :)
