I had my EEG this afternoon, and as far as medical procedures, it's got to be in the running for the easiest ever.
The tech drew about 25 dots on my head in measured locations.
She then gave me about 25 noogies... she had to rub a cleaning solution of some kind at all the spots to remove the skins/hairs natural oils, etc, to ensure good conductivity for the electrode thingies. This wasn't very comfortable, as she had to rub hard, but it was OK.
Then once I was all hooked up, I laid down on a bed, and she turned the lights low, and had me close my eyes.
After a bit of re-noogie-ing to get proper connections, I just laid there eyes closed for a while. Then she had me open my eyes, close my eyes, open my eyes, a few times.
I then had to take really deep breaths for 4 minutes, eyes closed, for some other readings.
Then more open eyes, close eyes.
Then we got to the best part... 20 minute nap break!
She actually said to me "OK, now I want you to try to snooze for 20 minutes" .
She turned the lights off and she sat quietly while I tried to fall asleep. I didn't manage to doze off, but I was pretty damn relaxed... and I guess that's the point.
Once that was done, the most uncomfortable part came up, and that wasn't too bad.
She put a super bright lamp right in front of my eyes, and with my eyes closed, the lamp went through various flashing cycles at different frequencies. The light was ridiculously bright... even with my eyes closed, I "saw the light" clearly, the whole inside of my eyelids lit up. lol
It hurt my eyes/head a little bit from the strain of the extreme brightness.
It was actually kinda neat though... I saw weird shapes with my eyes closed during the flashes.
You know if you have a bowl of water, and vibrate it, the surface gets ripples on it? And if you change the vibration, the ripples change shape?
Well... that's very much like what I 'saw' during this light flashing thing. I 'saw' lines and shapes, even though my eyes were closed, and those shapes changed with the different flashing frequencies.
Anyway... 'twas kinda wacky.
That went on for about 5 minutes, and then it was over.
The whole thing took about an hour.
I don't know what the results are... I have to wait to see my family doctor, which will happen next Thursday.
I'll report more then.
In the mean time, I'm feeling 100%. :)

We once even had a dog that was affected by a game the kids played in their game room. As long as the dog stayed out of the game room, he didn't seizure.
I hope they don't find a thing wrong, but then you are left wondering why it is happening.
Hey did you hear the Wings won the Stanley Cup tonight?
YA GO WINGS!!!!!!
